You don’t need to be a church member or even religious for us to pray with you, and we’re honored to stand alongside anyone through prayer who needs it.

Our pastoral staff is here to help, whether you need a hospital visit, a listening ear, or just someone to talk to during a challenging time. We feel called to care for every part of your well-being—not just your spiritual health—and to stand by you as advocates for your health, happiness, and hope.

Loss and sorrow are unavoidable parts of life, but that doesn’t make the death of a loved one or a divorce any less excruciating. It’s our duty and honor to stand alongside you through tough times. Rather than pretending that we have all the answers (we don’t), we’re here to support you through grief in an honest and meaningful way.

Marriage can be one of life’s greatest gifts, but it’s also one of its most profound challenges. Money problems, illness, infidelity, the loss of a child––these are all issues that impact marital relationships, but sometimes it’s as simple as slowly growing apart over the years. There’s no shame in admitting you have a problem. No matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been, you are worthy of God’s love and our support. We are honored to host recovery groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA), providing safe spaces for healing and hope. Our pastoral staff is also available to counsel and walk alongside you on your journey toward recovery. You don’t have to face this alone. Let us support you in finding freedom and restoration.

In a perfect world, none of us would have to worry about money. Unfortunately, struggling to save for retirement or pay off student loans are worries that keep many of us up at night. St. Matthew's in Sterling is here to support you through all aspects of your life, including learning how to better manage your finances. We offer a variety of opportunities and resources for coaching and tools we can recommend to help you on your financial literacy journey. Those in need are welcome to request food and diapers once per month. Based on availability, we will provide emergency food/diapers or refer you to one of our community partners. If you are requesting diapers, please include a copy of your child's birth certificate, letter of birth, or passport for your child(ren) under the age of three.  If you or someone you know is in need of food or other assistance, please contact the Care Response Team via email at CareResponse@stmtts.org.
