What Is Rainforest Falls?

Rainforest Falls is a Christian summer camp for elementary-aged kids in Sterling and Loudoun County.

Each evening includes dinner, music, high-energy games, hands-on science activities, creative storytelling, and small groups led by trained volunteers. Kids rotate through interactive stations designed to keep them moving, thinking, laughing, and building friendships.

Throughout the week, campers explore encouraging truths about who God is and how faith connects to everyday life. In ways that are age-appropriate and engaging, kids learn that:

  • God created them with purpose

  • God knows and cares about them

  • God is a safe place in hard moments

  • God’s love is steady and dependable

These ideas are woven naturally into the camp experience through music, activities, and conversations that feel welcoming and meaningful.

Why Families Choose this Evening Summer Camp in Sterling:

VBS at St. Matthew’s includes:

  • Kid-friendly dinner provided every night

  • Live music, movement, games, science experiments, and skits

  • Interactive Bible stories and discussion

  • Small groups by age so kids feel comfortable and included

Because it runs in the evening, this camp works well for families who are looking a meaningful and engaging summer experience for their children.

Designed With Today’s Kids in Mind

Kids today are navigating busy schedules, big emotions, and constant screen time. VBS gives them space to slow down, connect with others, and explore faith in a supportive, welcoming environment.

Leaders and volunteers are trained and screened according to our church's child safety policies.

During VBS, they focus on relationships, listening, and helping kids feel known and valued. Questions are welcome, and curiosity is encouraged.

“VBS at St. Matthew’s has been a highlight of our summers for years.

My kids love the kid-friendly dinners each night, and honestly, not having to plan meals for a whole week is a huge gift as a parent.

The daily Bible themes really sink in through the different stations, and the water games and science experiments are always their favorite part. Now that my kids are older, they love being part of the volunteer program. They still get all the fun, enjoy working with younger kids, and earn service hours at the same time."
