Easter Services
You're invited to celebrate Easter at St. Matthew's in Sterling, VA! You'll experience a welcoming atmosphere and a joyful message of hope.
Join us for any one of our Holy Week or Easter Sunday Services. Whether it's an early morning Easter Sunrise Mass with Paschal fire, a Vibrant Easter Service with Live Band and children's programming, an egg hunt and visit from the Easter Bunny, or a traditional Easter Sunday Mass with Choir, Strings, and Woodwinds, we have a service for you!

6:00 AM Easter Sunrise Worship
Immerse in the beauty of an Easter Sunrise Mass at 6:00 AM, featuring Paschal fire followed by a delightful Easter Brunch in the Parish Hall.
9:30 AM Festival Easter Worship with Band and Children's Program
Join our vibrant Festival Easter Worship with Band at 9:30 AM, where we joyfully celebrate Jesus' resurrection. Kids will adore our Easter Children's Program with games, science experiments, music, an Egg Hunt, and an interactive story.
11:15 AM Classic Easter Worship and Children's Easter Drama Workshop
Experience joyful Classic Easter Worship with Choir, Flute, and Strings, celebrating our Lord's resurrection. Kids will love our Children's Easter Drama Workshop where they will become part of the Easter Story! This traditional Easter Sunday service is one the whole family will love.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Our Easter Sunday services are a joyful celebration resurrection of Jesus Christ with great music and a relevant, practical message. Our services are for everyone. Whether you have a more traditional church background or none at all, you'll feel right at home at St. Matthew's for Easter.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by one of our wonderful ushers at the front doors of the church. They will welcome you, answer any questions you may have, help you find a seat, and get your family settled.
You will hear a joyful and thought-provoking message, uplifting music, and feel the joy of Easter as together we celebrate that Jesus is Risen!.
What should I wear? You won't be out of place whether you're in your fancy Easter dress and suit or wearing jeans. You'll see a little bit of everything at St. Matthew's, wear whatever makes you feel comfortable!
How long are the services? Our Easter services each run about 60 minutes. Each service includes music, prayer, a joyful message of hope, and communion. All are welcome.
What are the services like? Each of our services is unique. We offer a very traditional 6 AM sunrise service with Paschal Fire (symbolizing the light of Christ coming into the world). Our 9:30 AM service is more contemporary, with a live band, using both contemporary music as well as popular Christian songs, and our most-traditional liturgy is our 11:15 AM service with choir, strings and hymns. Whatever your faith background, you will find a service you will enjoy. We would love to meet you.
Is there anything for children? Yes! We have a lot in store for children at St. Matthew's this Easter! Our 9:30 AM Service includes a special Children's Interactive Easter Program where they will experience the resurrection of Jesus through hands-on activities like games, experiments, and music, ending in an Outdoor Easter Egg Hunt! Parents will enjoy a joyful worship experience and meet up with their children immediately following the service as they are finishing up their Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny! Our 11:15 AM Classic Family Service offers children a special Easter Drama Workshop where they will become part of the Easter story! All families are invited to join us between the 9:30 and 11:15 AM service for our outdoor Easter Egg Hunt.
What time should I arrive? We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before service start time for our Easter services to allow time for parking and our welcome team to assist you in finding a seat.
Where should we park? Parking is available on the back and side of the church, additional over-flow parking is available at the Loudoun Sheriff Station across the street or at Rolling Ridge Elementary.
