Prayers & Blessings for Graduates

We give thanks for all graduates and those who have supported them in their accomplishments. Here is a small collection of prayers for all who are graduating whether it is from preschool, high school, college, trade schools or simply graduating into a new season of life.

God our Father, you see your children growing up in an unsteady and confusing world; Show them that your ways give more life than the ways of the world, and that following you is better than chasing after selfish goals. Help them to take failure, not as a measure of their worth, but as a chance for a new start. Give them strength to hold their faith in you, and to keep alive their joy in your creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Heavenly Father,

Surround those who are graduating with your grace. Bless them with hope so that they move into the future with eager and open hearts. Help them to put the knowledge, skills, and insights gained through their education for the good of all mankind. Inspire them to believe in the goodness of life even when faced with challenges and difficulties. As they commence with their lives, may they grow even more grateful and wise. Amen.

Dear Lord,

Bless the lives of graduates with goodness and love. Help them use their gifts wisely, pursue their dreams boldly and guide them to walk into the future with faith, hope and great love.

Amen.

Dear God I give You thanks

For the triumph of this day,

For successful completion

Of this part of life’s way.

Now I would use my learning

In giving as I can,

Of love as well as skill,

In service to fellow man.

Oh, help me find that place

Where You have need of me,

For there will be fulfillment,

Love…and joy…and harmony.

Dear God,

Thank You for the knowledge these graduates learned in school, for the successes and the failures that have taught them how to succeed; for friendships gained; for the support of understanding parents and teachers; for the gift of self-knowledge. Lord, give them the strength to be vulnerable, the courage to care and the wisdom to love.

Dear Lord,

We pray for our graduates today and lift them before you. We thank you so much for these we love and for the work you are continuing to do in their lives. They are a gift to us and to many others. And during this season of new beginnings, we ask that you would make their way clear. We ask that you would keep their footsteps firm and remind them that you are with them, always. May they sense the freshness of your Spirit over their lives in amazing ways, may they be strengthened, instilled with hope, for the new roads you have in store. We ask for your wisdom and clear direction over their lives, that you would give them understanding beyond their years. Thank you that your timing is perfect. We pray that you would direct their steps, that your plans for them would prosper; that every place you have determined for them to walk would be paved clear. We ask for you to open doors that need to be opened and close each one that should be shut tight. Allow every gift and treasure you have placed inside their lives to grow, develop, and flourish. May they feel your peace and security. Amen.
